A society benefits through its people therefore, Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) has strategically partnered with the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, The Pure Sex Center, Crime Stoppers Barbados and The Power of Choice Initiative in an effort to contribute to the social wellbeing and moral fabric of the country.

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital Philanthropic Programme:

The Queen Elizabeth Philanthropic Programme: QEH Exterior

The Queen Elizabeth Hospital (QEH) is the county's primary acute care medical facility.

The institution was opened on November 14, 1964 seeking to address the medical, surgical, clinical and treatment needs of the Caribbean and to serve as a teaching hospital for those seeking a career in the medical profession.

Operational plans for the QEH continue to focus on strengthening the delivery of quality health care with strategic direction guided by the 10-year plan for Health and the QEH Care Excellence Programme (CEP). The QEH's Philanthropic Programme encourages corporate entities to make contributions to specific areas of need to improve the patient experience and BHL has proudly contributed towards the redevelopment of the hospital's chapel.

The Pure Sex Center:

The Pure Sex Centre evolved as a result of a community development programme. Interactions with the youth in the community highlighted the fact that a high percentage of them are sexually active. Further research showed that approximately 50% of Barbados' school children are sexually active before age sixteen, with some of this population having engaged in sexually related activities before the age of ten.

The center aims to develop creative ways to teach the youth the truth about sex in an honest, responsible and ethical way, as well as the benefits and advantages of more positive choices. It empowers the youth to live lives of moral excellence and sexual purity.

Crime Stoppers Barbados:

Crime Stoppers Barbados is a community-based action programme that gives citizens in Barbados the ability to fight crime anonymously without fear. This three-part partnership between the police, the media, and the general community creates a safer Barbados!
