‘Banks Holdings Limited supporting the dream
July 3, 2023
Banks Holdings Limited (BHL) is proud to support the young lads of Franklyn Stephenson Academy on their international tour to the United Kingdom to hone and test their cricketing skills. The BHL Group made a financial donation in support of the Academy’s two week Under eleven (11) and Under seventeen (17) teams where 32 excited cricketers between the ages of 8 to 16 are currently on tour.
Tour Manager, Kathlyn Gooden advised that The Franklyn Stephenson Academy is extremely appreciative of the financial support from Banks Holdings Limited to make the 2023 tour more affordable for these aspiring young cricketers. She reported, ‘despite the chilly weather, the boys are in good spirits, meeting and interacting with young cricketers from around the world, while gaining a wealth of cultural and international playing experience.’ She was pleased to report that the Under 11 team won one out of three matches so far against Switzerland and the Under 17 team won their T20 match against Wyvern Club. The teams are expected to play further county and club teams in Crawley, London and Brighton before returning to Barbados on Saturday August 26th.
Banks Holdings Limited views the sponsorship as an investment into the development of youth and the future of cricket in Barbados. BHL’s PR & Media Manager Sabrina Greenidge, expressed her delight with the growth, development and talent that the club was producing locally and oversees. ‘Our Banks beer has a long-standing association with local and international cricket in Barbados, and we felt that it was important for BHL to assist in the development of our young cricketers to keep this legacy alive. What better way to train them in all aspects of the game from a young age? We’re confident that these young boys will take full advantage of this golden opportunity to train and learn at the Academy and we are happy to hear about their experiences and achievements so far on this tour’ Greenidge said.
